The ‘Cup’ serves up freshly brewed beer,
good food and hospitality
Located at 115 Water St., The Liberal Cup Public House and Brewery has been a mainstay in town, since the fall of 2000, when it opened its doors to thirsty and hungry patrons looking for a British pub atmosphere and live music. The first place to open in the North end of town, The Cup has spawned a legion of imitations in town. But none can touch the original for hospitality, quality, and, of course, quantity.
The Liberal Cup is a popular place to stop by and drink beer that is brewed right on the premises, including 19 ales and 4 lagers that are rotated throughout the year. Everything from golden Pilsner to a cask-conditioned Bitter to a hearty Oatmeal Stout will appeal to all tastes. Come in and see what 6 are on tap at any one time.
The kitchen extends the same care and attention to its hand-crafted meals as the brewery does to its beers. From fresh mixed greens salads to hearty helpings of Fish ‘n Chips, all taste buds are catered to. Other favorites include fried calamari, the best Reuben north of NYC, and our locally famous Drunken Pot Roast.
Live music from some of our favorite Maine musicians is scheduled on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. You can also join our thousands of fans on facebook. Be sure to drop by on Tuesday nights for Maine’s Original Trivia Night. Our phone number is (207)MAD-BREW.
